Did you know that Hardwick used to be the bottom of a glacial lake or that the bedrock of the Hardwick area was formed in a shallow, warm sea? The ice sheet that once covered all of New England may have melted away thousands of years ago, but there are still plenty of features and many clues that reveal the geologic history of Hardwick. Come join Geologist, Dave Mitchell, and Soil Scientist, Lucy Zendzian, while we explore the geology and soils of Hardwick Trails.
Everyone is welcome at this free event sponsored by the Hardwick Trails Committee.
