Geology Walk on the Hardwick Trails

SATURDAY, NOV. 2 AT 9:00 AT THE HARDWICK TRAILS KIOSK

Did you know that Hardwick used to be the bottom of a glacial lake or that the bedrock of the Hardwick area was formed in a shallow, warm sea? The ice sheet that once covered all New England may have melted away thousands of years ago, but there are still plenty of features and many clues that reveal the subsurface and glacial history of Hardwick. Come join Dave Mitchell, retired science teacher and amateur geologist, while we explore Hardwick Trails.

Everyone is welcome at this free event sponsored by the Hardwick Trails Committee. The Hardwick Trails Kiosk is located behind the parking lot of Hazen Union School.

Participants should be prepared for a two mile walk. Please wear sturdy shoes and bring your walking stick/poles too. In case of rain, the event will occur Sunday, Nov. 3. Questions? Email [email protected]
